Abuse sick leave to get off work

> The fact that three quarters of Malaysian workers have taken sick leave and 27% lied that they were sick to get off work should not come as a surprise, said Awang Selamat in his Bisik Bisik column in Utusan Malaysia.

The columnist said it was indeed a “disease” among Malaysian workers to call in sick even though they were not.

He said abusing sick leave was a challenge that the private sector would have to face as it affected productivity.

Calling for serious action to be taken, the columnist urged hospitals and clinics to be more efficient in handling sick leave cases and not to be too quick to dispense medical chits.

Awang Selamat believes that if the country is too blase in dealing with these fraudulent cases, it will result in a society of workers with low ethics.

Housewife jailed 18 years for abusing her maid

Housewife Yim Pek Ha was jailed 18 years on three counts of causing grievous hurt to her former Indonesian maid Nirmala Bonat in a trial that attracted nationwide attention.

She was however acquitted on the fourth charge of breaking the maid’s nose supposedly with a steel mug.

Akhtar jailed Yim 18 years on each count, saying: “To do it one time is cruel, more than one time is more cruel. You deserve to serve the jail term consecutively but it will be harsh if I send you (to prison) for 54 years, so the sentence will run concurrently.”

Yim was charged with causing hurt to Nirmala with a hot iron, hot water and a metal cup at her house at Villa Putera, Jalan Tun Ismail here in 2004. The offence carries a maximum 20 years’ jail and fine or whipping.

Omg, 18 years for this? How about raping? Shouldn't it be lifetime prison? The lesson is don't try to commit crime in Malaysia because the prison serve here are a lot longer. Go other countries..lol

Days are not good right now..

I know the current financial crisis landed them and they are trying to make a living here...Someone even offered me 20% for few millions for helping her to get the money because her dad was dead poisoned by businessman..Nonsense..

Dilemma after another..

Dilemma comes one after another. After graduating from diploma, okay, lets proceed to degree but how? where? when? I been thru that process and ended up doing my degree at Northumbria U. So, I'm graduating from my finance degree b4 chinese new year..What's next? Contribution to a higher unemployment rate in Malaysia. Recession is expected to land Malaysia next year, they will be alot of companies retrenching employees. More will be unemployed, more will lose income, and being poorer, Malaysian lost the spending power. Business will go down, and again cut employees..

Okay, i dont want to find myself a job so soon upon graduating. So after 16 days of Chinese new year break, flying 2 weeks to Kota Kinabalu, equal to 1 month unemployed. lol..Should i be working in TI if the salary equal the salary i can get in KL? I can save alot of money but i lost the life i've can get in the big city..Lol..Hooray, yet another dilemma.

No offense evaluation..Ciptaan semata-mata..

This is the worst thing ever, I hate it so much, when you know that by running away from reality won't help you to ease the matter, but that is the only thing that i can do, for now. Until he finally manage to step up and confront the problem all by himself. Arggh.. I hate to run away from a place which meant so much to me.
Two years ago, i lost partial of it, and now, i'm losing it completely.
